"Sky's Mirror" by Abhijit Banik using Catchphrase " Sky finds a mirror when the courtyard goes under water /উঠোন যখন ডুবে যায়, আকাশ নতুন আয়না পায়"

34094.jpg

The beautiful painting that displays praise worthy artistic skill. Surreal depiction of the idea, reminds me of Dali - water, cloud, paper origami - makes you look at the extended balcony twice - but do not see any technical problems... very simply represented. Aligns perfectly with the catch phrase- JURY

Untitled  by Soumik saha using No Cathphrase

34081.jpg

The unconventional choice of the subject and the idea that it represents reflects social awareness. Great idea - striking composition - interesting choice of shape of the plywood canvas. The usage of plywood to enhance the detailing of the fact of a man from the labour class is appreciable. Extremely dream like depiction of the every day. A relevant title for the artwork would have been welcome.-JURY

34070.jpg

An appreciable artistic representation of the catch phrase comes out through the appropriate use of tempera paint. The psychological analysis of the inner conflict within a human personality is expressed beautifully through the overlapping of images and layering of colours. Extremely strong visual that has a language of its own. Visually pleasing - clear depiction of the catchphrase, title and description. Love the transparency and human figure drawings.- JURY

34037.jpg

Almost a dreamlike visual! Looks really cool! The usage of memory ,nostalgia and melancholy blends the artwork with a heart touching emotions. The overlapping juxtaposition of the past and the present versions of the artistic persona reemphasizes this idea further. Love the way the description started - but I was expecting more - I was expecting more exploration of duality of Identity.- JURY

I always like red sky and yellow river - the trees and plants reminded me of miniature paintings of India - overall pleasing - brings a smile on my face.A better alignment with the catch phrase is desirable. The explanation provided by the artist requires greater emotional connection and asthetic clarity. JURY

"Kanta" "Thorn" by Sourojit  Panja using No Catchphrase

34078.jpg

Good choice of object, good composition, wonderful use of colours, fine skillset - overall gives me a clear story. !The idea behind the artwork, that connects the cactus with resilience and the blossoming of flower with hope creates an admirable philosophical approach. The multi layered effect created by the opaqueness of the gouache paint further reinforces the central idea.- JURY

" Journey" by Mousumi  Pramanik using Catchphrase " Sky finds a mirror when the courtyard goes under water /উঠোন যখন ডুবে যায়, আকাশ নতুন আয়না পায় "

34068.jpg

Idea allies beautifully with the catchphrase. The detailing of the image including the juxtaposition of the central figure ,the dimension of the stairs and the placement of the cat is very well thought of. 34059.jpg

A topic close to my heart. Beautiful illustration. The artwork is emblamatic of art being a perfect medium of protest and resistance. The extremely skilful usage of symbolism ,the use of colours and the minute detailing ensured through the use of newspaper background deserves appreciation.  There are room for improvement - but the emotion and message are felt.- JURY

"Surrounded " by Mainak  Dutta using Catchphrase " Sky finds a mirror when the courtyard goes under water /উঠোন যখন ডুবে যায়, আকাশ নতুন আয়না পায়"

34050.jpg

Unusual interpretation of the theme, Great idea - great subjects. Perfect representation of the catch phrase. The deeply philosophical, heart breaking yet touching image of human resilience, bonding and survival delivers a strong social message. I like the background and the characters - but the depiction of the water could be done better, could have been elevated to the next level with skillset.-JURY

"' Only lunch " by Debosmita   Shee using Catchphrase " Sky finds a mirror when the courtyard goes under water /উঠোন যখন ডুবে যায়, আকাশ নতুন আয়না পায় "

34043.jpg

A very meaningful artwork that highlights the day-to-day economic struggles of the middle class with an appreciable blend of symbolism and artistic skill. Strong visuals! However ,the relation between the idea and the catch phrase is not very clearly delineated. The description could be more clear - because it is not communicating through the painting.- JURY

Great idea - lots of subjects. Has a carnivalesque feel to it.  The artwork displays considerable skill and hints at a profound symbolism. The idea underlying this symbolism, however, required proper clarification in the comment section.-JURY

"Identity crisis " and "Captive" by Debasish   Adhikary  both using same Catchphrase " Cocooned in words you had been, until I brought you out/শব্দের ভিতরে ছিলে, কিন্তু আমি বাহিরে এনেছি "

34019.jpg

An intricately done artwork that conveys the rootless reality of the weaving industry. The symbolic representation of the identity crisis of the weavers- specially the use of the encircled roll of weaved cloth is truly commendable. Great idea ,clear execution, Beautiful tones, great skillset - the story is clear.-JURY.

34017.jpg

"The light " by Angshujyoti   Das using Catchphrase " Sky finds a mirror when the courtyard goes under water /উঠোন যখন ডুবে যায়, আকাশ নতুন আয়না পায় "

34009.jpg

An out-of-the-box and amazing projection of the catch phrase. Great skillset if this is done in wash. But very good idea! Love the muted colours! The surreal feeling carefully constructed through the play of light and shade has created a silhouette effect which is extremely difficult to achieve.KEEP IT UP-JURY

"The battlefield " by Smita   Maity using Catchphrase " Sky finds a mirror when the courtyard goes under water /উঠোন যখন ডুবে যায়, আকাশ নতুন আয়না পায়"

"ami sei meye/ Myself the girl" by Mousumi Pramanik

34069.jpg

A very different kind of story telling. Absolutely love the approach and style. In spite of being an ambitious literary adaptation, poetry made its presence felt. 34079-1 R.jpg
34079-2 R.jpg

34079-4 R.jpg
34079-5 R.jpg
34079-6 R.jpg
34079-7 R.jpg
34079-8 R.jpg

Appreciable genre storytelling and atmospheric dread. The high-contrast black-and-white art style and blending of folklore horror builds psychological tension effectively. Antu's internal conflict is quite palpable, although why Antu from being a werewolf, is back to his self is unclear. Loved the power dynamics between characters. Visually so exciting. Strokes are so sound and strong.-JURY

"Beyond The Veil " by Esha   Roy

34084-1.jpg
34084-2.jpg
34084-3.jpg
34084-4.jpg

Very nicely done. Like the story telling. An exploration of dreamscapes and reality but barely evocative and existential. Digital illustration serves the ethereal atmosphere- JURY

Budding Weaver Award

"The anomaly" by Meghasree   Barua.

34021.jpg

Idea is praiseworthy. Sensitive social themes surrounding body image also came out well.. Finely depicts the struggle and emotional turmoil the girl goes through and the revival. The dramatization in drawing could have perhaps brought more essence to the story- JURY.

"Breaking the myths" by Sukriti   Bhowmick.

34032.jpg

A very much necessary lesson in today’s time. . Loved the way light applied to the illustrations to make them stand out of a mythical concept.- JURY
